Title: IT Quality Assurance Engineer 4

Location: Albany, NY

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Program Managers, application owners and stakeholders to understand and analyze system and business requirements.
  • Create detailed system Integration(SIT) strategy outlining the testing approach, in scope and out of scope of testing, define test environment, risks, dependencies and milestones.
  • Create SIT test plan with details test scenarios and conditions to be validated during SIT execution phase.
  • Identify test data and test environment requirements for SIT testing. Facilitate test environment set up tasks.
  • Generate Weekly and Daily status reports and communicate same with project team and project stake holders.

Expectations for the Position:

This individual will be a senior technical resource responsible for setting technical direction across the storage and converged infrastructure domains.

These responsibilities will span the block Storage Area Network (SAN), file Network Attached Storage (NAS), Object (S3, Swift, etc.), Backup and File and Print, and converged infrastructure technologies globally, on-premise, and in the public cloud. This will include evaluating new technologies, setting strategic direction, executive presentations, and presenting to customers.

The Sr. Storage Engineer will be a thought leader in the storage domain with a strong technical understanding of all infrastructure domains. The individual will be the technical lead for large and complex projects requiring collaboration across infrastructure, platform, and application teams.

The ideal candidate will need to be comfortable interacting and influencing senior/executive leadership, CIO partners, peer infrastructure groups, auditors, operational risk management, security policies and practices, and vendors.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of operating systems analysis experience, operating systems engineering experience, or a combination of both
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • 1+ year of experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) concepts
  • 5+ years of SAN (Storage Area Network) experience
  • 5+ years of NAS experience
  • 2+ years of experience compiling and preparing executive summaries, whitepapers, and presentations for management or senior leaders
  • 2+ years of information security experience

  • Candidate should have strong knowledge of virtualization fundamentals, including server virtualization, desktop virtualization, and storage and network virtualization

  • Understand concepts of virtual desktop infrastructure, such as desktop virtualization and application virtualization
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in implementation, troubleshooting, and administration of Horizon View components, such as connection servers, security servers, load balancers

  • Knowledge on servers like Cisco UCS or rack-mount servers from Cisco/HP/Dell

  • Experience designing, configuring, and deployment of enterprise firewall systems and all their included parts, such as IPSEC VPN, SSL VPN, IPS, application visibility and control, and vendor-specific attributes of each system.
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot problems in unfamiliar environments, while maintaining organization and having great communication with the customer and our sales team.
  • Building, designing, and upgrading Microsoft Windows Server 2003 - 2019 and Active Directory environments and the supporting sever roles, including DNS, DHCP, WSUS, etc., including troubleshooting all aspects of deployment.
  • Building, designing, and upgrading Microsoft Exchange 2003 – 2019 environments, including troubleshooting all aspects of deployment.
  • Experience designing solutions around Office 365 and performing Office 365 migrations, in an all cloud or hybrid environment.
  •  Implement and manage anti-spam systems (Barracuda, FortiMail, TrendMicro HES…)
  • Network monitoring tools, such as Extreme Management Center, Observium/LibreNMS, SolarWinds Orion, and other platforms that monitor server and network infrastructure.
