Hello blog readers! It’s Allison from the Marketing Department. Every month, I’ll be interviewing a member of our sales team to learn about the newest and most exciting technology solutions offered by our partners.
This month, we’re speaking with Ken McKenna, Client Director and Extreme Champion, about the latest offerings from Extreme Networks.
AS: To kick off the interview, can you tell us a bit more about Extreme’s recent acquisitions and the benefits they offer customers?
KM: This is truly an exciting time for Extreme Networks! With the recent acquisitions of Zebra Technologies, Avaya, and Brocade, Extreme has solidified their spot as a top end-to-end enterprise network solutions provider. These acquisitions, along with the existing Extreme portfolio, will unify and simplify many management tasks.
The Brocade purchase has enhanced Extreme’s existing enterprise and analytics solution offerings, completing their software defined networking practice. The Zebra wireless LAN portfolio acquisition has also helped to strengthen the ExtremeWireless solution product line by providing increased security and analytics. Last but certainly not least, Avaya’s pioneering and award-winning switching fabric technology offers simplified access and highly secure management and control of the data center, core, and edge switching environments.
AS: Can you expand on the benefits of an end-to-end network solution vs. point solutions?
KM: End-to end-solutions offer simplicity, enhanced security, and visibility into the network that is manageable from one interface, instead of managing multiple solutions from separate interfaces. Point solutions often lead to complexity in these areas.
AS: Are Extreme’s network solutions more cost-effective than competitor solutions?
KM: As mentioned previously, the Extreme Networks network interface offers simplicity and ease of management, which in turn reduces total cost of ownership. Internal resources are able to perform strategic activities instead of focusing so much of their time on ongoing management.
AS: Can you tell us more about Extreme’s new Automated Campus solution?
KM: Extreme announced the enterprise market’s only fully-automated end-to-end campus solution this September. The Automated Campus solution is a policy-based, fabric-enabled architecture extending from core to wired/ wireless edge. It provides 360-degree view of the network (wired and wireless), users, devices and applications, with context and scale, through integrated management, analytics and policy.
AS: Can smaller organizations benefit from Extreme Networks’ solutions, or are they primarily for large/ enterprise clients?
KM: Yes! Extreme is #1 leader in service and support for all of their clients, big and small. I’ve personally helped many smaller customers to utilize Extreme Networks’ entry-level solutions in their organization.
AS: You recently attended the Extreme Networks partner conference in Florida- can you tell us a little bit more about your experience?
KM: I’ve been to many partner conferences in the past and the recent Extreme Networks partner conference really generated a lot of excitement. I had the chance to learn more about Extreme’s complete vision and how this will increase the return on investment for our clients. This year, I even had the opportunity to speak with the CEO of Extreme who said he hasn’t seen this much excitement from Extreme partners in 10+ years! I’m already looking forward to next year’s event!
