Across the nation, employee phishing is running rampant. Ransomware brought an airport offline and an NBA team’s online store was leaking credit card information just last week alone. On a list of last week’s notable breaches, the average company size is only 11-50 employees.
Hackers are no longer focusing on enterprise-sized targets – they are focusing on small companies that don’t have the time and/or money to secure themselves properly.
It’s a dangerous assumption to believe an organization isn’t big enough to be a target of phishing, though. Cybersecurity affects all companies.
In fact, small businesses are actually a BETTER target, as they typically have smaller security budgets and less security framework in place (but still hold the same data from which a hacker can profit).
Thankfully, there are many steps you can take to ensure you’re protected without breaking the bank.
Do you know what to do if your environment has been compromised?
