Alex Ryals
With more than 20 years in the IT and Channel industry, Alex joined Tech Data via the acquisition of Avnet Technology Solutions in February 2017 and currently serves as VP of the Security Solutions team. Alex originally joined Avnet by way of the Pepperweed Consulting acquisition in 2012, where he was a founding member and served as chief technology officer of this HPE Software Reseller.
Having spent the last few years helping Avnet build solution practices in areas such as Big Data & Analytics, Mobility, Security, Converged Infrastructure and Internet of Things, in his current security role at Tech Data, Alex’s team builds channel enabled solutions that leverage hardware, software and services to grow the sales of Tech Data Vendor offerings.
Alex speaks at numerous partner and industry events each year and is passionate about transforming sales teams into solution sellers and enabling the channel with high growth areas of Technology.
Brett Scott
Brett L. Scott serves as the Director of Solutions Development for Tech Data, Americas. In this role, he is responsible for accelerating the security expertise of our partners and building security solutions for the Tech Data partner ecosystem to deliver to their customers. Leveraging supplier sales, training and enablement and delivery services specialists, Brett is responsible for new supplier research / recruitment to deliver new security products and services to Tech Data and enables partners to sell those solutions to their customers more effectively.
Brett is the co-founder and technical architect of The Arizona Cyber Warfare Range, a 501c3 non-profit organization leading the country in teaching hands on cyber security skills in a real world environment to those motivated to develop real competence in cyber security. The Arizona Cyber Warfare Range, combined with partners like the FBI’s Infragard program, the first Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO), and others like the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center (ACTIC) are leading the United States in delivering break through and effective cyber intelligence, critical skills, and essential knowledge to help defend the United States of America and its interests.
Brett holds a deep technical and hands on experience, especially cyber security, software design and development, and secure network / communications. His career began professionally in 1987 and he remains hands on, but has many years of experience leading technical teams. During his career, he has worked in many different industries and has a great deal of in depth knowledge on cyber security issues facing companies today.
