Hello ATEC Group Blog Readers! It’s Sabrina from Marketing here. Earlier this month, I had the chance to join ATEC Group in volunteering at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York in Latham! This was my first time volunteering at the Food Bank and I was eager to see what I could do to help.
Our Spring Volunteer Shift at the Food Bank
Our team started out our 2 hour volunteer shift by organizing donated carpets that needed to be counted and boxed up for delivery. We then sorted through several large boxes of cleaning supplies, party supplies, pet supplies, office supplies, and craft supplies. These supplies all needed to be evaluated and sorted into individual boxes to be sent out to shelters in need. It was interesting and very eye-opening to learn what local shelters and food pantries can and cannot accept as donations.
ATEC Group worked with the awesome volunteer coordinators at the Food Bank to organize these supplies and truly enjoyed having the chance to support members of our community. Our ATEC Group team works hard to organize quarterly volunteer sessions, and we will surely be back to volunteer at the Food Bank this summer!
Check out some photos from our volunteer shift below!
