ATEC Group is excited to share that we’ve been taking steps (literally) towards creating a healthier workplace. We’re currently holding an inner-office step challenge and encouraging each other to meet and exceed our weekly fitness goals!
Here’s how the ATEC Group Step Challenge works:
- Participants set weekly step goals based on their own fitness levels. While a little friendly competition is certainly motivating, the overarching goal of this challenge is to improve everyone’s individual health in an attainable manner. We don’t want anyone getting injured in the process!
- Step Challenge participants connect via StrideKick to encourage each other (and tease each other a bit..) throughout the week. Step goals are also displayed on a whiteboard in the break room!
- Every week, a healthy prize is awarded to the individual that’s the highest number of steps above their personal goal.
What our employees have to say about the challenge:
“It’s encouraging to be around others who are also trying to be healthy! I’ve enjoyed having coworkers to to take walks with and they challenge me to do better. It’s hard to be motivated when it feels like work to be exercising, so sharing the experience with others helps tremendously.” -Deanna Palitsch, Managed Services Coordinator
“I think that it’s great that the company has rallied around a common goal of being healthier. To be successful, you need to feel a sense of teamwork and comradery among your coworkers. Let’s face it, we see each other more every day than we see our own families! I think that this challenge is bringing our team closer together. ” Lisa Seguin, Senior Account Executive
“I think it’s a good team building activity and positive company challenge. We’re having a great time competing against each other for fun while working to get healthy.” – Bill Craver, Senior Account Executive
“I just want to beat you all so bad, since I did so poorly in our fantasy football league” – Lewis Needham, SVP of of Sales and Operations
Editor’s Note: Some of us are more competitive than others..
Our ATEC Group Step Challenge will run through May 17th, when we will compete as a team in the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge 3.5 mile race. We’ll be sharing weekly step updates on our ATEC Group Facebook Page– so be sure to follow along!
